How the check works
- We fetch the submitted public pages, follow at most five redirects and check HTML, robots.txt and sitemap information. We do not sign in or execute JavaScript. Private network addresses are refused.
- The sixteen checks use this tool's own thresholds and weights. A pass counts in full, a warning as half, and unchecked items are excluded. The score is not a search-engine score or a prediction of ranking.
- Fix these first lists what your page misses, the ones your competitors already have first. Speed is timed from our server, so it shows how fast the HTML arrives, not the whole page in a browser.
Questions
Does this replace a full SEO audit?
No. It checks one page on the things a crawler reads first. Keywords, backlinks and the rest of the site need a deeper look.
Do competitors find out?
We do not send a notification. Their site can log our automated requests for public pages and related files, so the check is not invisible.
What do you keep?
Page addresses and results can be retrieved for 90 days; older records are deleted on a later save. Opening the full report creates a separate follow-up record with your name, email and checked page addresses. That record has no fixed automatic deletion deadline. See the privacy notice.
