xlsx-hermes

Excel spreadsheets (Hermes)

  • Documents
  • MIT

An openly licensed Excel and CSV toolkit that builds styled multi-sheet workbooks with formulas, charts, dropdowns and tables, exports existing workbooks to JSON or CSV, and edits rows and columns safely. It reads CSV files in non UTF-8 encodings, which helps with exports from local accounting software.

When to use it

For the same spreadsheet jobs when you run Hermes, or when you want an MIT-licensed base to adapt into your own localised version.

What it can access

  • Runs code
  • Reads or writes files

Before you enable it: Runs bundled Python tools, and optionally LibreOffice, on local files. It comes with its own test suite.
