Book a dinner reservation through OpenTable by chat
A PCMag reviewer asked Microsoft Copilot Actions to book dinner for two at a nearby Japanese restaurant on OpenTable; it completed the booking once he supplied his phone number and a text code.
What they did
He asked Copilot, in Actions mode, for a dinner reservation for two at 8 pm at a good Japanese restaurant nearby using OpenTable. Copilot opened a cloud hosted browser, searched, picked a restaurant and time, and filled in the booking. He also asked it to find and buy a recent literary fiction book on Barnes and Noble, where it identified a 2024 bestseller.
How it went
The reviewer says the reservation was completed on OpenTable after he entered his phone number and the verification code sent to it.
Worth knowing
Actions mode assumed he was in Chicago, voice input did not work, and he sometimes had to take over the browser. Captchas and sign ins blocked other tasks, it was slower than doing it himself, and the book purchase was not confirmed as completed.
Try it with Microsoft Copilot
Book a table for <number> at <time> on <date> at a well reviewed <cuisine> restaurant near <your neighbourhood> using <booking site>. My location is <city>, so do not assume anywhere else. Show me the restaurant and time before you submit, and stop to let me enter my phone number and any verification code myself.
