Draft your weekly newsletter from a project folder

A marketing newsletter writer runs his midweek issue from a Claude Cowork project that holds his bio, style guide and best past issues. He says that after a few issues he only has to supply the week's topic and notes.

What they did

The project folder contains an about-me file, a writing style guide, five past issues that performed well and reference material on his topics, with short standing instructions. Each week he drops research and notes into the folder and tells Claude the topic; Claude reads the context, asks clarifying questions and drafts the issue in his voice. He keeps the brief and the final review for himself.

How it went

The poster says that by the third or fourth issue Claude knew his voice, structure and audience well enough that he only needed to give the weekly topic.

Worth knowing

No time savings or reader metrics are given. He notes Cowork projects are local only, scheduled tasks need the computer awake and the app open, and output must be reviewed before sending.

This project folder has my bio in <about file>, my style guide in <style file> and my best past issues in <past issues folder>. This week's topic is <topic> and my notes are in <notes file>. Ask me up to three clarifying questions, then draft the issue in my voice with a subject line, keeping paragraphs short and avoiding the words listed in the style guide.
