Prepare for portfolio board meetings and write up what was decided

Australian venture firm Airtree built Claude Cowork skills that prepare partners for portfolio company board meetings and turn the meeting notes into a summary and updated record afterwards.

What they did

A board prep skill reads the board pack in the company's Google Drive folder, searches Slack for mentions of the company, checks recent competitor news and public comparables, and compares everything with the previous prep to show what changed and which commitments are outstanding. After the meeting, a summary skill matches the meeting notes against the prep, posts a short summary to Slack when the user says send, and saves a detailed record back to Drive.

How it went

The firm says board meeting summaries that took about 30 minutes now take about two minutes, and daily pre-meeting research that took an hour now takes minutes.

Worth knowing

The firm says all generated content must be verified by a person, and judgment stays with the investors. The figures come from the firm via Anthropic and are not independently measured.

Try it with Claude Cowork

Prepare me for the <company> board meeting on <date>. Read the board pack in <board folder>, search <team chat> for recent mentions of the company, and check recent news about its competitors. Compare with my notes from the last meeting in <previous prep doc> and list what changed, what was promised and is still open, and five questions I should ask.
