Turn a recorded walkthrough into a focused business dashboard
A reporting specialist who works with smaller companies describes how he now builds focused dashboards with Claude Code, starting from a recorded conversation with the person who needs the numbers.
What they did
He records the stakeholder walking through their current manual report, transcribes it, and gives Claude Code read-only database access plus the transcript. Working in plan mode, Claude Code asks clarifying questions, explores the schema, writes the SQL or pandas queries, and he checks outputs against known numbers before it builds a Streamlit app.
How it went
The poster says a focused dashboard now takes a few hours instead of weeks of setup in self-service tools, and that changes like splitting by region land while the request is still fresh.
Worth knowing
He warns that generated SQL can look right but double-count or use the wrong joins, so someone must validate it, and the approach suits clean data at small to mid-size firms.
Try it with Claude Code
Here is a transcript of <a manager> explaining the weekly report they build by hand: <transcript file>. Connect to <your read-only database> and explore the relevant tables, then ask me any questions before writing queries. Reproduce their numbers for <a known week>, show me the comparison, and only then build a simple dashboard with filters for <dimensions they mentioned>.

What this label means: User reports
Someone using it at work posted about it. Any numbers are theirs, so we write "the poster says".
Real cases of AI agents at work, from every major agent, each linked to where it was first reported. Rewritten in our own words, most with a prompt you can try. These are not Wize customers.
